Huong Tran, MSMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist

My approach to therapy focuses on helping clients understand what lies beneath the surface of their experience. Many difficulties develop over time, and meaningful change begins by slowing down to explore thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns. I draw on well-established approaches such as CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Restoration Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to support this process. Rather than offering quick solutions, therapy creates space to better understand one’s reactions, needs, and the dynamics one is part of. At times the work is practical, focusing on communication and behavior, and at other times it involves deeper reflection on identity and relational roles.
Personalized support for every stage of your wellness journey
Huong Tran Therapy offers evidence-based therapy for individuals, adolescents, and couples, along with workshops and seminars for organizations in HCMC. Services focus on improving communication, navigating relationship challenges, and supporting emotional well-being through a systemic and practical approach tailored to each client’s needs.
Much like two people working together on a meaningful project, therapy is a collaborative process that requires trust, consistency, and mutual engagement. The following policies outline the expectations and guidelines that support effective therapeutic work.
Healing begins with one intentional step
Reaching out can feel uncertain. To support you in this process, we keep the first steps clear, thoughtful, and focused on whether this is the right fit for you. Whatever brings you to therapy, the process often begins in the following way:
01
Connect
Start with a 30-minute online conversation to explore if we’re a good fit.
02
Begin
Explore the key parts of your story, deepen your understanding through reflection, and practice new skills between sessions. Sessions are typically weekly.
03
Ongoing Therapy
Sessions are typically held once a week at the beginning, with a focus on working through patterns, building clarity, and making meaningful progress over time.
Frequently asked questions
Still have any question?
01. What brings people to therapy?
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are dealing with relationship conflicts, anxiety, or periods of low mood. Others feel stuck or uncertain about important decisions, such as career direction or the next step in life. There are also times when past experiences begin to surface and feel difficult to carry alone. For adolescents, challenges may include overwhelming anxiety that can lead to panic attacks, low motivation to attend school, or difficulties managing emotions and social relationships. Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a space to better understand what you are going through and begin to find a way forward.
02. Is therapy confidential?
03. Is therapy right for me?
04. Is there anything specific I should know before starting couple therapy?
05. How do I know if we are a good fit?
